The empowerment of underprivileged young people in Africa

Young Africa ,an NGO for the empowerment of underprivileged young people in Africa has started a non-profit foundation, YOUNG AFRICA-USA in Chicago. The official launch of this foundation was held on March 27th, 2009 in Chicago which was attended by Dorien Beurskens, Co-founder and project coordinator of Young Africa.

The objective of this volunteer non-profit foundation is to raise funds and support for the development projects and programs run by Young Africa in Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Young Africa remains committed to the task of equipping young people to take the initiative and responsibility of building their own future. Young Africa runs three development projects in Zimbabwe and Mozambique for the empowerment of underprivileged young people between the ages of 15 and 25 years. In the ten years of existence, 14,000 young people have benefited from our skill and vocational training programs.

Young Africa-USA also seeks to establish this base in America with the purpose of creating a social awareness among the youth of America about the plight of youth in Africa and get them involved in making a positive difference in the world we live in.

The work and mission of Young Africa brings home the fact that we can continue and strive to make a difference in creating a better hopeful future for the young, the young of Africa , the young of the World!
