We Choose To Challenge: Young Africa Celebrates International Women's Day 2021

This month is all about women!
A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. At Young Africa we believe we can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.
“My wish is to see more and more women in leadership positions and to see more young women dominating in the male dominated skills and careers” says Marcelina Matias (19), from Young Africa Mozambique.
We envision a world where inclusive education for youth is the new status quo. For example, 53% of our students are female. Isn’t that great?!
From challenge comes change, so let’s all choose to challenge.

A dedicated YP3 webinar was hosted on the 8th of March. Hosted by our partner FDC, we invited influential women to celebrate International Women’s day 2021 and discussed the topic “Women in leadership: achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”. Afterwards students had the chance to participate in the Q&A. They learned what it takes te become a strong leader in a post COVID-19 world.

The YP3 project in funded by the European Union.
