Following the first successful phase I of the program “Skills 2 Live”(S2L) Young Africa, in partnership with Frontline AIDS, IOM Mozambique, and Ideal Lab, and with funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands through its embassy in Maputo are implementing the new phase II of S2L.
S2L Phase II started its implementation of program activities at the beginning of 2021 in Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. While the already existing implementation areas from Phase I were maintained, some additional districts in Mozambique and Zimbabwe were targeted. New for the S2L Phase II is the implementation of the program in Zambia, where we reach 4 districts.
S2L has the ambition to reach at least 21.120 young people with the following activities
- Mobile training trucks train youths in rural or semi-urban regions living with or at risk of contracting HIV/AIDS in vocational skills.
- Vocational Training at 5 TVET Centers across Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
- Post-graduation support services for employment and entrepreneurship to graduate students.
- Wellness spaces services at Young Africa Vocational Training Centres to assist vulnerable students with SRH materials and information, counselling and referrals to HIV and SRHR services, if necessary.
