• Stela’s Journey of Determination and Growth

    October 15, 2025

In the busy streets of Luanda, Angola lives Stela Sitangeleka, a young businesswoman with a strong spirit and big dreams. She runs her own small business selling hair products; massage oils, conditioners, shampoos, and hair treatments, all made with care and passion.

Her journey started small. “I used to sell clothes that my sister made,” Stela recalls. “I’ve always loved doing business.” That passion grew over time. After attending several hair workshops, she began selling hair products, one bottle at a time, to friends and neighbours.

Everything changed when she heard about the Skills2Live Women in Business project through her IT trainer. She applied and was selected to receive business support. With a grant of €158, Stela was finally able to expand her business. She bought more materials, increased production, and reached new customers.

“The income is good and it helps me a lot,” she says with a proud smile. “With this business, I can pay for my studies and buy food.”

Stela is studying Biology at Universidade Agostinho Neto, balancing her academic work with running her business full time. She manages everything herself, from production to sales and delivery. Her products have become so popular that she now sends 15 kits at a time to different provinces like Benguela, Huambo, and Malange. Each batch sells out quickly, earning her around €604.73 per month in profit.

Her business continues to grow thanks to her strong online presence. Stela uses social media to connect with customers, share photos of her products, and advertise her brand. Her dream now is to improve her packaging and officially register her products so she can grow into a recognised brand.

Looking back, Stela says she feels proud of how far she has come. The support she received didn’t just boost her income; it gave her the confidence to believe in herself through the entrepreneurship training she received at the S2L programme.

“I am grateful because now I can study, support myself, and inspire others. This business changed my life,” she says softly.
