• New centre for Skills2Live in Lusaka

    November 25, 2024

Due to the growing demand for technical skills among youth, Skills2Live Zambia is in the process of opening a new training centre in Lilayi, just 15 kilometres from its current location at Lusaka Business & Technical College (LBTC).

Young Africa has been operating in Zambia since 2017, and since then, we have trained more than 5,000 youth, with 69% of graduates becoming economically active within three months of completing their training. Over the past few years, Skills2Live Zambia has empowered youth at LBTC, training 200+ youth annually in eight different vocational training programmes, as well as conducting mobile training in Zambia’s Eastern Province.

Construction is underway at this new site in preparation for welcoming our first cohort of students in January 2025. Students will be trained in Metal Fabrication, Cosmetology and Hairdressing, Food Production, Electrical Engineering and Solar Energy, as well as Young Africa’s complementary skills, including Life Skills, Entrepreneurship, and digital and financial literacy. This new centre will eventually have the capacity to train 1,500 youth annually. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting new location!
