“I am passionate about building the capacity of young people through skills training because this is a route out of poverty.”

Joyce’s professional journey is defined by her dedication to uplifting Zambian communities. Her expertise spans critical sectors, including food security, integrated agriculture, enterprise development, and HIV/AIDS mitigation. Most recently, she served as the Country Director for the Farmer-to-Farmer program (implemented by CNFA). In this role, she was the primary architect of national activities, bridging the gap between expert volunteers and government stakeholders to foster sustainable growth.

While she was at Heifer International, Joyce’s leadership left an indelible mark on the Copperbelt and Eastern provinces. As Program Manager, she oversaw complex initiatives funded by prestigious international partners, including: UKAID, Oxfam, Hong Kong, ELANCO, Send A Cow.

Through these collaborations, she managed resources that directly benefited more than 29,000 households, ensuring that farmer organisations gained access to profitable markets and long-term economic stability. Her technical proficiency in donor compliance, institutional strengthening, and proposal development has made her a respected figure among global development partners.

“Education is an equalizer. Regardless of someone’s circumstances, they can contribute to the economy and make a better life for themselves and their families. Young people are industrious; all they need is a push in the right direction.”

With Joyce Malasha at the helm, Skills2Live Zambia is poised to deepen its impact, ensuring that every young person we reach has the opportunity to turn their industry into a thriving future.
