Skills2Live Welcomes Joyce Malasha as Country Director

She sought to balance her roles as a student and a worker, staying focused on her responsibilities and personal growth.
The experience in the Entrepreneurship course was a turning point. Thanks to what she learned, she now has a much more professional vision of how to manage a business.
“ I have significantly improved my calculation methods, business organisation, and, above all, my strategy for determining real profit.”
Cristina reconnected with the institution where she attended primary and middle school. They provided her with a fundamental support network through colleagues who helped her adapt to daily challenges. With increased monthly turnover, Cristina is able to improve her home conditions, cover transportation to college, pay for school materials and contribute to her family’s food expenses from time to time.
When asked about the challenges Cristina faces she said, “ As in any business, I face difficult days, there are moments when sales of rissóis (savory pastries) or popcorn at the school are weak due to low student attendance. Seeing leftover products turn into a financial loss is something that hurts, but I understand that this is part of every worker’s process. Resilience is my tool to keep going”.
Cristina noted that the program was excellent and well-utilized.” I am very grateful to have been part of this class; it was highly motivational and encouraged me never to stand still. A woman can achieve so much when she has the will to work”.
